Description

We can't move forward if we are constantly looking back at what could have been or should have been.  In the Old Testament, God commanded Lot's wife "not to look back" from the place she fled (Sodom).  She disobeyed. God turned her into a pillar of salt.  We received similar warnings from Jesus during his time on earth.  We are told to take off the old self and become a new person.  Lot's wife wasn't able to accept that.  What she chose to value in her heart, led her to look back at her old life and ultimately led to her demise.

Jesus says "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God". Most us have never used a plow, but you've probably used a lawn mower.  Can you imagine how crooked your lines would be if you mowed the lawn looking backwards?  Or how about driving your car while looking backwards?

In 2002 U2 released the Album All That You Can't Leave Behind and it had a song titled "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of".  Interestingly, the song right before that one was "Beautiful Day".  A beautiful day is out there, but if we are looking back, and stuck on moments we can't seem to get out of, we'll miss many of the opportunities placed before us.  Too often, we let mistakes and issues from our past steal from our future moments, adventures and opportunities.

We hope you enjoy this ultra-soft and comfy SaltTee shirt and that it serves as a reminder that God designed us to move forward, not backwards. It's OK to study history and  learn from our mistakes, but we must be careful not to constantly look back as it can tear away at your soul.  I think CS Lewis said it best "There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind."
