SaltTee Ministry; Hato Del Yaque

Hato del Yaque is a poor community outside of Santiago in the Dominican Republic.  The people in Hato del Yaque suffer from many problems, as it is rampant with alcohol and drug addictions, prostitution, and many teenage mothers. 

Through our partnership with GO Ministries of Louisville, KY and First Christian Church in Fort Myers, FL we work along side the missionary and pastor of this impoverished community.  We help encourage their ministires through education, building churches and sponsoring children in the education and feeding program. 

With the purchase of every SaltTee shirt you are helping to fund the efforts in Hato del Yaque.  Unlike other businesses that give a portion of proceeds to charity or ministry, 100% of all profits of SaltTee are directly passed on to support this community in one of the following ways:

Construction

Buildings are needed to host schools, medical clinics, nutrition centers, churches and ministry housing.

Nutrition Centers

Many of the children in Hato del Yaque and the Dominican Republic as a whole suffer the daily effects of malnourishment.  It is a devastating effect of poverty.  The nutrition center in Hato del Yaque, that our t-shirts help support, meet this need and supply children six hot meals each week.  Nearly 100 children are being served in Hato del Yaque. 

Water Purification

Dysentery caused by poor water, is a leading cause of death in the Dominican Republic.  In 2012 we were privileged to be part of a team that helped with the installation of a water-purification system within the community center in Hato del Yaque. 

Short Term Mission Projects

Three times each year Brian helps lead and facilitate short term teams into Hato del Yaque.  These teams assist with construction projects, children's ministry/VBS, community outreach, sports camps and relationship building.  These trips are mutually transforming, with those of us going normally more transformed than those we've gone to serve.  If you would like to go with us or get a schedule of upcoming short-term mission trips and projects, please contact us and we'll send you all the details.
